Mr Jaeseong Joo is currently serving as the Senior Deputy Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service. He started his career in 1981 with the Bank of Korea. In 1999 he was made Chief Manager of the Supervision Department at the FSS and in Head of Supervisory Information Department in 2000. He was made Director of the Secretary's office in 2004 and Director of FHCs/Derivatives/IT/Pension Supervision Office in 2005. From 2006-2008 he was Director General of the Investigation Department, Director General of the Credit Supervision Department and Director General, General Coordination Department. He was made Deputy Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service in 2008 and Senior Deputy Governor in 2011.

Mr Jaeseong Joo has a B.A. in Business Administration from Seoul National University and an M.A. in Business Administration, University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign.

Dr. Donghyun PARK is currently Principal Economist at the Economics and Research Department (ERD) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which he joined in April 2007. Prior to joining ADB, he was a tenured Associate Professor of Economics at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

Dr. Park has a Ph.D. in economics from UCLA, and his main research fields are international finance, international trade, and development economics.

His research, which has been published extensively in journals and books, focuses on policy-oriented topics relevant for Asia's long-term development, including impact of population aging on Asia's growth, Asian sovereign wealth funds, and Asian pension reform. Dr. Park plays a leading role in the production of Asian Development Outlook, ADB's flagship annual publication.

Colin has more than 15 years of Investment Banking and Capital Markets experience. He is currently Head of Structured Debt Solutions in the Treasury and Markets Division at DBS Bank Ltd. and is responsible for building and expanding DBS' push to provide its clients in the region structured fund raising solutions.

He was previously the Head of Securitisation and Financial Engineering at The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ., Ltd where he successfully expanded the firm's presence in non-Japan Asia. He started his career at the Union Bank of Switzerland in 1995 and was involved in establishing and building out the Asian Asset Backed Finance business for Asia and has held similar senior positions at CIBC World Markets and Bank of America.

Colin has worked in the public, private and asset backed CP markets and has transaction experience in auto receivables, mortgages, credit cards, consumer loans, trade receivables, leases and collateralized loan and bond obligations.

Colin holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Banking and Finance) from the University of Canberra and is a Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australia.

Wonjae LEE is the President of HERI (Hankyoreh Economic Research Institute), a leading independent economic think tank in Korea. Before HERI, he worked as a researcher at Samsung Economic Research Institute, a think tank of Samsung, and as an economic journalist at Hankyoreh Newspaper, a leading media group based in Seoul.

Recently, Wonjae Lee is interested in CSR (corporate social responsibility) and its impact on the business itself and the economy as a whole. He is recently leading various CSR research & consulting project including East Asia 30, a research project to establish a CSR evaluation model for leading Chinese, Japanese, and Korean corporations.

He earned an MBA at MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA and a B.A. in economics at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea.

Before taking this, he was a Head of Prop.Trading and a Head of Derivatives Trading in KDB Daewoo Securities for over 6 years.

Mr Kun Ho Lee is currently the Senior EVP and CRO at KB Kookmin Bank in Korea. He took up this position in August 2011

Mr Lee has a B.A. in Business Administration (Cum Laude) from the Seoul National University of South Korea. He received his MBA with major in Finance from the Seoul National University in February 1984 and Ph.D. in Finance in November 1991from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis in the USA.

Before joining Kookmin Bank, Mr Lee has worked in a number of roles with various companies. He worked as a Credit analyst at Han-Yang Investment & Finance Co till 1985 and was then a research fellow at the Korea Institute of Finance for six years, from 1993-1999. Mr Lee then took on the role of "Head of Risk Management Group" with Chohng Bank in Seoul from 1999-2003.

He has also worked as a professor at the KDI School of Public Policy and Management from 2004-2011.

Dr. Gilnam Nam is the head of derivatives of Korea Capital Market Institute (KCMI). His research areas are OTC derivatives and structured products.

He has consulted governments, firms and financial institutions on derivatives market related issues over many years. Prior to joining KCMI, he was a general manager at KIS PRICING INC (KIS).

He was responsible for pricing OTC derivatives in KIS. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Seoul National University.

Daeshik Park

Daeshik Park is currently the Vice President of the Korea Economic Research Institute. He started his career in 1982 as Researcher and Assistant Manager of International Affairs at The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI). In 1989 he became the Assistant manager of the Economic Department and was made Manager of the International Affairs Department in 1990. In 1995 he moved to the Planning and Management Department as the Head of Planning and was made Head of International Economic Team in the International Department in 1998.

In March 2000 Mr Daeshik Park was made Deputy Head of the International Division at the Federation of Korean Industries and Head of International Economic Team in January 2004. From January 2005- December 2005 he was the Trade Advisor of FKI , Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and in January 2006 he was made Deputy Secretary General and Head of International Affairs.

Daeshik Park has a B.A in French and Literature from the Seoul National University and an MBA from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He also studied trade law for four months at Columbia University in the United States.

Jae Seung Shim was born in Daejeon, South Korea on August 23, 1959. He had worked for securities company and investment advisory firm over ten years until he moved to the Kofex(Korea Futures Exchange) in 1999. Since 2005, he has been working for the KRX(Korea Exchange), which was established with the merger between Kofex and KSE(Korea Stock Exchange). He was appointed to the Executive Director of Derivatives Market Division, KRX in 2009. Now he is responsible for Derivatives Research & Development Center of KRX.

Mr. Shim graduated from Yonsei University in Korea in 1981 and earned his MBA from the Graduate School of Yonsei University in 1985.

KOREA INSTITUTE FOR INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC POLICY (KIEP)

Dr. Heungchong KIM is currently Senior Research Fellow and Director of Research Planning and Coordination at Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP). Dr. Kim's expertise includes trade policy, economic growth and development, regional integration, and social policy issues. Dr. Kim has played a pivotal role in the discourse of "polarization of income distribution" and "Korea-EU FTA" in the Korean society.

He presented a paper on Socio-economic Disparity in the APEC Region to the APEC Economic Committee, and published a book titled on Harmonization of Social Policy with Economic Policy, and Social Consensus Building in 2006, which was rewarded as one of the best research of the year by the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences.

With regard to FTA issue, he published a book on feasibility study of a Korea-EU FTA in 2005, which was the first professional research, ever published both in Korea and Europe, and has widely been cited by successive research works of the field. Since 2005, he has conducted more than ten research projects with Korean Ministries on the FTA.

As the FTA negotiation embarked in 2007, he had been among the advisory group on Korea-EU FTA for Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MOFAT) of Korea, and took part in the negotiation of the FTA. He also conducted a research project on the feasibility study of Korea-EU FTA with CEPS in Brussels for the European Commission in 2007.

Dr. Jooyoung Yun is head of index & ETF investment division which is composed of index /ETF investment team, and strategy research team. He is one of the key persons on the field of ETF market in Korea and has professional experiences in Korean index fund market over 10 years.

Mirae Assetl Group has its ETF business in Korea, Canada, Hong Kong, and Australia, with ambitious plans for further international expansion. The brand name of TIGER is acronym for Transparent, Innovative, Generalized, Efficient, and Reliable. TIGER ETFs have the largest product line up and the second largest AUM in Korea.

Dr. Yun is responsible for not only portfolio managing for TIGER ETF including passive index funds but also developing quantitative and fundamental investment strategies. The investment products managed by his division include various asset classes from equity such as local market index, sector and style, to commodities and global equity indices.

Dr. Yun has over 12 years experience in the index fund and ETF industry. He joined in Mirae Asset Group March in 2011 and plays key role in the deployment and development of ETF business. Prior to joining Mirae Asset Goup, he was head of index and ETF investment team at Woori Asset Management for 6 years after he managed various index funds and quantitatively-oriented funds at Yurie Asset Management for 5 years.

Dr. Yun holds Ph.D. and Master in Financial Engineering from KAIST(Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) and received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Korea University. He also has CFA charter and lectures on alternative investments and derivatives subjects at CFA Education Center of CFA Korea Society.

ByungKi Suh, CFA, is the Senior Managing Director, CRO and Compliance Officer at Shinyoung Securities. Prior to working at Shinyoung he was the Head of Risk Management at the Korea Investment Corporation. He has also worked the Financial Engineering Research Center as the Principal research fellow and also at LKFS Co where he was the CEO & President. He was also senior manager of the Risk Management division at the Korea Exchange Bank.
ByungKi Suh has completed his B.S in Economics from the Yonsei University in Seoul and has an MBA in Financial Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology(KAIST).

Kyuil Chung joined the Bank of Korea in 1987 and started his research as a junior economist on foreign exchange markets and financial instruments in the international department and the savings promotion department. In 1999, he was on leave to study abroad at the Economics department in UC Davis, California, U.S.A. His main specialties are monetary economics, international macroeconomics, and econometrics.

After getting his Ph.D., he returned to the Bank of Korea in 2005 and has served as the head of the monetary studies team and international economic studies team at the Economic Research Institute. He has also written and presented numerous papers in international journals and conferences. Some examples include "Capital inflows and policy responses:

lessons from Korea's experience, (Bank of Israel Conference, 2011)," "Mechanisms to mitigate the adverse effects of capital inflow: Korea's case, (Joint UN ESCAP - Cambodia Ministry of Finance Workshop, 2010)," "Does the Liquidity Effect Guarantee a Positive Term Premium? (Economic Modelling(SSCI), 2009)," "Household debt, the savings rate and monetary policy: the Korean experience (BIS Papers No 46, 2009)," and "Fluctuations in Exchange Rates and the Carry Trade (Bank of Canada-Bank of Korea Joint Conference, 2009)," etc.

His current research interests lie in the area of policy measures such as foreign exchange, monetary and macroprudential policy to combat excessive volatility of capital flows, monetary policy and financial stability, and reform of the international monetary system.

Chulwoo Han is CEO and co-founder of CMPR, financial consultancy in Korea. He has been helping TriOptima's business development in South Korea since this year. He has extensive industry experience in financial engineering. His past work involves the modeling and analysis of a wide spectrum of financial instruments, and advanced analytics for portfolio risk management, asset allocation, and asset-liability management. He received his BS and MS from the College of Engineering at Seoul National University in 1999 and 2001, respectively, and PhD in financial engineering from the Graduate School of Management at KAIST in 2008. Prior to co-founding CMPR in 2003, he was with the Financial IT group at Samsung Life Insurance. He is a CFA charter holder and registered FRM.

Dr. Yeong-Ho Woo took up the role of Chaired Professor at the UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology). He served as the Chairman of OTC Derivatives Review Committee at the Korea Financial Investment Association (KOFIA) from May 19, 2010 to December 31st, 2011. Before he assumed the role at KOFIA, he has served as the President of Derivatives Market Division at the Korea Exchange (KRX) for four years since January 2005.

He has also been working for about eight years (1995-2003) as the Deputy President of the Korea Securities Research Institute (KSRI), a major think-tank specialized in providing policy guidelines and researches for developing the capital market as well as derivatives markets in Korea. At the KSRI, Dr. Woo has participated in various important research projects such as "the Blueprint on the Financial Liberalization and Market Opening"(1993), "Reform of Securities Industry "(1995), and "Modification of the M&A Regulations"(1996). Related to derivatives markets, he has been serving as a member for the Futures and Options Market Development Committee. Recently, the KSRI changed its name to the Korea Capital Market Institute (KCMI).

In 1997, he has served as a special fellow at the Presidential Committee for the Financial Reform. Just after the 1997 financial crisis, he has implemented many projects as a coordinator such as "Capital Market Demand Study: Diagnosis and Action Plans" (1999-2000) with both Korean government and World Bank, "Study on Development of the Government Bond Market in Korea" (2000) with the Asian Development Bank, etc.

He studied Business Administration at the Seoul National University (1971-1975) and obtained a Ph.D. in Finance from the State University of New York at Buffalo (1982-1988).
